Sell High, Buy Low: How the Conspiracy makes Money from a Market Crash – Part 1

In my previous post, Did Osama bin Laden ever dream of doing this much damage to Americans?, I discussed a movie, The Big Short. But what is a “short”. How do you make money out of a “short”?

Suppose you know for certain the price of some financial asset, say the stock of HiTech Corporation (HiTech) is about to shoot up. Perhaps you’ve heard there’s going to be a takeover bid or maybe they’re about to announce the invention of a super battery that will make electric cars a no brainer.

Did Osama bin Laden ever dream of doing this much damage to Americans?

Want to know how the Conspiracy operates? I mean how it really operates? Not the fantasy word of Alex Jones or David Icke.  Not Jeff Rense’s rubbish.

I mean do you want to see what happens in real life?

Then see The Big Short Continue reading “Did Osama bin Laden ever dream of doing this much damage to Americans?”

The Structure of the Conspiracy: Is Larry Summers a Conspirator?

Larry leaned back in his chair and offered me some advice. … He teed it up this way: I had a choice. I could be an insider or I could be an outsider. Outsiders can say whatever they want. But people on the inside don’t listen to them. Insiders, however, get lots of access and a chance to push their ideas. People — powerful people — listen to what they have to say. But insiders also understand one unbreakable rule. They don’t criticize other insiders.

How many Heads before you smell a Rat?

Imagine someone tosses a coin. It comes up heads. Nothing suspicious there. It had to be either heads or tails and the one was as likely as the other. Continue reading “How many Heads before you smell a Rat?”

The Great Recession was Collateral Damage

Catastrophic as the Great Recession was for many Americans and, indeed, for many people outside the US, it is important to understand that from the perspective of the Conspirators this was collateral damage. They did not intend to start a recession. Their goal was to engineer the greatest market collapse since 1929 from which they could profit. If one of the consequences of the crash was a recession that was of no concern to the Conspiracy. Continue reading “The Great Recession was Collateral Damage”

Complexity as a Weapon

In April 2014 former defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld sent the following letter to the IRS.

This note is to alert you folks that I know that I do not know whether or not my tax returns are accurate, which is a sad commentary on governance in our nation’s capital. I do hope that at some point in my lifetime, and I am now in my 80s, so there are not many years left, the U.S. government will simplify the U.S. tax code so that those citizens who sincerely want to pay what they should, are able to do it right, and know that they have done it right.

The Great Recession – The View from 2008

Back in August 2008 Olivier Blanchard, the recently retired[1] Chief Economist at the International Monetary Fund, published a much acclaimed paper, The State of Macro. It was a review of the state of macroeconomics[2]  (“Macro”).  At the bottom of page 2 the last sentence, apart from footnotes, reads:

The state of macro is good

Where to Start?

I’ve traced the Conspiracy in its modern form back to 1901 in, of all places, South Africa. At the time South Africa was a part of the British Empire so it would be reasonable to say it started in the British Empire; however it is not a British Conspiracy. Very early on it acquired a global reach. Continue reading “Where to Start?”

Why are conspiracy theories dismissed with contempt? David Icke and Alex Jones.

The short answer is that most conspiracy theories are worthy of contempt. They sound crazy because they are crazy. Continue reading “Why are conspiracy theories dismissed with contempt? David Icke and Alex Jones.”
